I loved this autumn family shoot at Dalkeith Country Park as it was the perfect mix of colour, light, and relaxed family moments. We were lucky to catch the last of the vibrant autumn colours, making it an ideal setting for family photography at Dalkeith Country Park.

The weather forecast didn’t look promising, but we decided to go ahead with the shoot and I’m so glad we did. The rain stayed away, and everything came together beautifully for this outdoor autumn family photo session.

Jill, who is also a photographer, styled her family perfectly in warm autumn tones that complemented the surroundings. Even their dog matched the colour palette, which added a fun and cohesive touch to the photos. As regular visitors to Dalkeith Country Park, they knew some lovely, quieter spots that made for stunning backdrops.

When Jill first booked, she mentioned she really wanted more photos of herself with her boys. Like many photographers, she had plenty of images of her children but very few with her in them. During the session, I made sure to capture a great mix of natural, candid moments and posed family portraits, focusing on those special connections.
