Dog pre-wedding shoot in Linlithgow!

When Laura and William got in touch to ask if they could incorporate their pet dog into their pre-wedding shoot I started to get excited! I loved the idea even more when I heard that their dog Murphy is a St Bernard as the film Beethoven was a childhood favourite of mine!! The shoot took place in the grounds next to Linlithgow Palace on a very bright, sunny day in October. We found some lovely sheltered areas around the loch to begin the shoot. Luckily they had brought a couple of willing assistants along to take Murphy while we were doing the couple photos so there were a good mix of photos with and without Murphy. That way it still gave a good feel for how I’d work on the wedding day.

Laura and William hoped to use a photo from the shoot for their save the date cards as Murphy is a big part of their family! I was impressed that they had done some research and purchased a cute save the date sign to put around Murphy’s neck :-)!! A couple of times Murphy ran off and I had visions of him jumping in the Loch complete with sign around his neck!! Luckily he stayed dry and and very handsome for the photos. I enjoyed doing a shoot that was a little different from usual especially as I’m an animal lover myself. It was funny to think Murphy is about twenty times the size of my little mini-dachshund!!
