Exciting times!! I absolutely love photographing proposals. Edinburgh is an incredible and diverse city to pop the question. There are many amazing locations to choose from for a proposal shoot. I’m happy to offer suggestions to come up with the perfect place.

I have been honoured to capture these special moments for many couples over the years. I ensure details are captured with warmth and creativity. I photograph proposals discreetly (I’ve never been noticed!) and after some celebratory hugs I spend some time getting some natural shots of you both together.

Best time of day for proposal photos?

As with all types of outdoor photography the ultimate time for the best light is first thing in the morning or just before sunset. Not only is the light more beautiful but it’s usually quieter too! Of course planning a proposal at these times doesn’t always fit in with plans. I can shoot at any time of day and you still get beautiful photos!

What are the best locations for a proposal shoot?

I love shooting at Calton Hill, The Vennel, Princes Street Gardens, Dean Village, Circus Lane. Places outside the City Centre like Lauriston Castle is also very beautiful and a bit quieter.

How long does a proposal photography session last?

Shoots last upto 1.5 hours.

What happens if it rains?

If the forecast looks like rain might be on the cards then I’ll bring an umbrella or I might suggest a different time to avoid the rain if schedule allows.
